Chronic perineum pain

Hi, Im a 50yo generally healthy male but have been having an issue with perineum pain for about 3 months. The pain seems to get worse during the day and with sitting and is in the same spot in the middle of the perineum. Sometimes it feels like a muscle cramp type pain or ache. Theres also a sense of fullness and like sitting on a golf ball. The pain is most days and when I wake up its not there but then gradually builds throughout the day. Ive had a DRE and PSA tested about 6 months ago and they were fine. I dont have any bowel or urinary symptoms that Ive noticed other than maybe a touch of urinary urgency. Any ideas what this could be? Its quite uncomfortable. From my own research it sounds like it could be prostatitis, urethritis or maybe a pelvic floor muscle problem but Id like some advice.

It does sound like it could be prostatitis, and you should see your doctor. It could also be a pelvic floor issue, and maybe urethritis, though I'd expect other symptoms with urethritis, but a doctor can help sort that out.

It doesn't sound like a cancerous condition, but to be safe, don't wait any longer. You'll need a doctor to rule that out.
