Anabuse (sp?) contraindicated for hepatitis C?

by Richard A, Dec 05, 1999 12:00AM
Thanks in advance.

I am a 41 yr. male with chronic hepatitis C with "moderate chronic hepatitis". I don't have cirrohosis (yet). For many years I quit drinking, but I've recently started occasionally drinking perhaps a 22 ounce bottle once a week or so. I took Disulfirim (anabuse) years ago, is this drug contraindicated in hepatitis C patients because it will damage the liver? I was thinking of starting anabuse again.
