Hello,
First of all, I would like to say this a great website. I am 41 married male & About 6-7 months ago I had unprotected sex with a married female, 36. about a month after that encounter I notice the meatus regoin on my penis was red and noticed a slight dull sensation in one of my testicles when sitting down... I would go away when I stood up. Since then, i really dont have that sensation in my testicle and the meatus is sometimes more read than not. I was told by a nurse friend that this is area is more sensative due to the amount of fluid(urine and seamon) it is exposed to. (frankly paranoid) I have had no other symptoms.... Since that escapade, my wife and I have got it back together and we both have started working out(cardio) alot.. She goes about 75 minutes /day on the elliptical machine... She said the last time she did this 11 years ago, in her late 20's she went 9 mos without a period..... She had her normal cycle in January, febuary, had a light march, and totall skiped April... I am wondering if this could be a symptom of a STD that I could have passed to her. She is not spotting or no discharge and had a wonderful physical in febuary, -pap smear....
I have read that you could have std's Chalmydia and other with no symptoms ie: burning discharge, extreme pain in testicles, etc... Is that possible???

You are in a better judge than I am to judge the risk your casual partner 6 months ago might have been carrying an STD; I can't begin to guess at her sexual lifestyle. But chlamydia is very uncommon in people over age 30, and it's certainly rare in married women that age. Your symptoms don't particularly suggest chlamydia or any other STD. Further, no STD causes missed periods, whereas vigorous exercise and excellent physical conditioning is among the most common modern explanations for missed periods (aside from pregnancy). So there is no reason to suspect your wife is infected.
All things considered, I don't think you have anything to worry about. But if you want a still higher level of certainty, it's no big deal for you to have a urine chlamydia test. Your local health department would do it cheaply (or free) and with 100% confidentiality.
