Hello Doc,

I had unprotected Oral Sex(Received Blow job but dint go down on her).Just after the second day after the encounter I started getting bumps on my upper Lips.. and got tested myself for Herpes which came out negative and the docs who saw these bumps were pretty sure that they are not Herpes as they dint have the characteristic features of Herpes, like they didnt have a red base and they dint scab when they did go away. The Docs said its may be Folliculitis.

Apart from this initial scare I started getting abdominal pain which at times runs thru to my right testical from the second day of the encounter. The urine test which I got done showed a high wbc count i.e  12.5 (am sure of the units) and the doc said that the normal count is between 4.5 -10 I had to undergo CT scan for Kidney Stones, Appendicitis. Again the tests came out negative but the pain continued. I was then referred to a GastroIntestinal Specialist who didnt think any thing wasworng and siad it may be internal Muscle Spasms ..which can occur due to stress and tension. I have now been put on Dicyclomine Hydrochloride Capsules 10 mg which I have to take 4 tablets a day for a month.

Although I have found some improvement , and the pain has decreased a bit, it is still there and my right testical pains some times too. Its been almost 6 weeks since the encounter with the woman and its been almost 15 days since i have started taking these pills.

Now just yesterday I noticed on my left testical a bump whcih looks like it has some pus in it and then to my horror I noticed very very tiny bumps with white heads all over my testicals ... I got it checked out by a doctor yesterday and the doc said it dosent look like any sexually transmitted disease and may be folliculits and put me on Cephalexin 250 mg tablets (4 times a day for 10 days).I have no discharge from my penis until now.

I have a few questions which I request you to answer,

1) The abdominal/Testical pain that I keep experiencing time and again , is it in any way realted to the encounter with the woman?

2) Is the very very tiny white bumps/spots which I notice all over my testicals and the one larger one on my left testical a sign on any sexually transmitted disease?

3) I have read in articles on the internet that abdominal/pain in the genitals is usually a sign of having acquired a sexually transmitted disease.

4)Abdominal pain, how long do they last in the case of a sexually trasmitted disease.

5)Which are the sexually trasmitted diseases that could be transmitted through Oral sex?I know that Gonnareah and Herpes are possible ..is HPV possible too.

6)What is the possiblility of me getting HIV through oral sex.

7)After how many days after the risk of a possible exposure should anyone get themselves checked for all stds(including HPV,Herpes) and HIV

8) Is a wbc count of around 12.5 indicative of me having acquired any STD.What else could cause a higer WBC count apart form STD?

Your symptoms do not suggest any STD, and I very much doubt you caught anything (except maybe a case of anxiety and nerves) from the sexual encounter you describe.  If the doc who examined you didn't find anything, I cannot do anything more.  Your symptoms absolutely cannot be due to any STD.  They are highy typical of normal body sensations magnified by stress or anxiety.

To answer your specific questions:  1) No.  2) Sounds like normal hair follicles or sebaceous glands.  If in doubt, show your doctor.  3 and 4) No, that's wrong.  Abdominal pain can be a symptoms of STD in women, but not men; and when testicular pain is due to STD, there is dramatic swelling and tenderness of one testicle (epididymitis).  5) In receiving oral sex, there is a chance of herpes due to HSV-1, a small risk of gonorrhea, and a possibility (but almost zero) risk of syphilis.  Nothing else, and no HPV.  Your symptoms are not due to any of those infections.  6) Zero or close to it.  Search the HIV Prevention forum for more information.  7) People in your circumstance don't need STD testing.  8) Literally hundreds or thousands of conditions can cause elevated WBC counts.  No STD does so, except in unusual circumstances.  12,500 is barely elevated and  usually doesn't indicate anything serious.

Follow up with your health care provider.  Ask for an assessment of your emotional health and its possible contribution to your symptoms.  I suggest it out of compassion, not criticism.

Good luck--  HHH, MD
