Dear Doc,
First of all, I wanna thank you for the past advices that you gave me. It really gave me hope and bring my life back. Took your advice and currently undergoing treatment and medication for my genital warts and wait for my body to take care of the virus. I've just found out that I have a coinfection of both MCV and Genital warts. Well, I just treat them either way... Sometimes I get frustrated because after treatment, new warts would grow in another area... But I kept your professional opinion in mind, that HPV will be cleared by your own body, just like chicken pax... But it will take a longer period.
Just wanna ask if Masturbating is a bad idea... Will masturbating cause the spread of genital warts in my genital area? I also fear that the virus would transfer to my hand... I use my hand to wash my anal organ after visiting the toilet. I fear that the virus would transfer to my anal area through my hand.
Will shaving my pubic hair helps? I've read somewhere that the pubic hair could spread the virus faster. Is there some truth in this?

There are no data on either masturbating or shaving. Common sense and oft-stated medical opinion is that shaving can spread warts locally, but nobody really knows. I doubt masturbation is a problem. Anal warts are not uncommon, and in heterosexual men the mechanism might well be local spread by the kind of mechanism you ask about. But again nobody knows. It would make sense to not directly touch your anus with your hands after touching your penis, i.e. wash your hands with soap and water, or use a disinfectant gel like Purel. Or avoid directly touching your anal area at all; I see no reason why that is necessary.
