NGU that doesnt go away

Heres my dilemma. A few years back I had a brief sexual encounter with a bar girl in the far east (with a condom).2 weeks later, I noticed a sensation (like I was dribbling-but no discharge) at the tip of my penis. I also felt moist under my foreskin and my upper thighs/groin seemed sweaty/uncomfortable.I went for full check up (although it was about 3months after initial encounter) and was diagnosed with NSU. The other tests came back negative.I was given Doxcycline for 1 week,however the irritation remained.I went back again and was told the doxycline would have sorted anything out and to forget about it and drink more water. A few months passed but no change.
Having not learnt my lesson & finding myself in Amsterdam after a few beers..Well, I used a condom.
About 7 weeks after this, I got an intense pain in my right testicle. It started off gradual but by the time I went to bed, was quite intense. Next day, it was gone but towards the end of the day, came back again. This happend for 4 consecutive nights and then it had stopped completely.I don't remember any swelling but went for a check up (swab/urine) Results were fine.About 3 1/2 weeks after this, the pain came back but now, its a dull ache, most noticeable when sitting or lying down(when I wake up I'm aware of it), a bit like getting kicked in balls but milder. I don't really notice it when standing or if I masturbate.
Worried about cancer, i went for an ultrasound scan-which was fine and a check up with GP, in case of hernia.

Persistent or recurrent NGU is a relatively common problem. (Nongonococcal urethritis/NGU is the same as 'nonspecific urethritis', or NSU as it tends to be called in the UK and some commonwealth countrires.) The definitions are indistinct and overlap with those of prostatitis (most of which is now categorized as the male pelvic pain syndrome). Most cases of all of these may not be due to any infection at all, but perhaps some sort of ongoing inflammatory reaction other than infection. In any case, antibiotics generally do not help much--although most providers and patients give them a try, not much response should be expected.
The causes are unknown, and some cases may be triggered initially by initial STD, like chlamydia or garden-variety NGU. But the ongoing symptoms definitely have nothing to do with any STD or any sexually transmitted organism. The good news is that the syndrome is not known to lead to cancer, infertility, or any other serious health problem for either the patient or his sex partners. Most people end up living with the syndrome without apparent consequence aside from stress and inconvenience.
So all I can suggest is that you follow up with your GP and/or urologist and follow their advice.

I would like to follow up with urologist. I have read about prostatis but its sounds difficult to treat/diagnose.
On a few occasions I have woken up to pee and then had an intense stinging afterwards (quite unbearable). This has happened on about 3 occasions and on all of them, I had drunk beer the night before. In a leaflet I was given, it mentions that NGU can recur and that alcohol can be a factor. Is this just the alcohol causing an irritation? It also mentions that NGU can cause inflammation of the testicles...
Is possible I could just raise a few questions please
1.) How could I have got NGU, even though I used a condom?
2.) What would have caused the intense pain in my testicle?
3.) If I don't have an std, then what could it be? mumps?
4.) Do any of my symptoms sound like herpes or warts?
5.) Could my delaying going for 1st check up meant they missed what was really causing NGU?
I don't know if the testicle pain was caused by NGU or something from the 2nd encounter I had. It seems too much of a coincidence.
In a recent post you mentioned:Condom-protected sex means no risk for urethral or prostate infection. I used a condom and it didn't break or come off, I'm pretty sure of that. Maybe ive just been unlucky. I know threes some anxiety on my part, but I didn't imagine the initial symptoms and I have tried the usual drinking lots of water/cranberry juice.

NGU has been under estimated, it is a living organism and it would prefer to stay that way, therefore it adapts to its host. If you do not rid yourself of NGU the first time you recieve treatment proporly it adapts and learns. I myself have had NGU or at least my PERSONAL and ever chaging strain of NGU for 2 years now, so let me tell you how I made my mistake, and learn from me. It is the least I can do because I cant even count how may women I have given it to because the "doctor" told me I was fine and I had unprotected sex cause of his unwillingness to LISTEN. I could write forever cause I have been through this for so long, I feel like I am a lab rat in an experiment for YOUR BENEFIT. So here goes
Live the life of a Mormon, no sex of any kind, no drugs, no alcohol if you work out no HGH or creatine for that matter, and the one thing that you mabey have overlooked NO ROUGH CONTACT PERIOD WITH THE GENTINAL REGION for 2MONTHS Take 2gram azintro 2weeks doxy 2weeks cipro, thats one month of meds and the second month well lets just say welcome to priesthood.Sex of any kind protected or unprotected restarts the infection. If you have a significant other DUMP them. You have a choice now your health or your relationship the ONE reason why I still have NGU is because my girlfriend means so much to me and she BELEIVES the doctor when he says she has nothing and no sex for 2 months for no reason doesnt sit to well with the Misses. Even though she has foul smell and discharge coming from her virgina that started when we stopped using condoms in the relationship. I have a great Urologist hes great cause when I tell him to perscribe me something he just does it cause he knows I can a will research my problem throughly. good luck and I will pray for you. All forms of NGU can be passed. A white paste like discharge is a clear indication that you have passed it to your woman DO NOT take NGU LIGHTLY it will contribute to you being lathargic, headaces, stomach aches, testical pain, ERECTILE DISFUNCTION I love you peace be wit you.
