Worried about possible crab infection

by rbm4653, Apr 26, 2005 12:00AM
On the pubic hairs below my scrotum, i have crust like gorwth at the top of the hair.  It looks almost like eggs from lice or something.  I haven't had any red spots, itching, or soreness but worried it may be their egggs.  What is it and do I need to be worried?

Sounds like you're right, you have crab lice.  The eggs often are easier to see than the lice themselves.  But if you look closely under good light, and perhaps with a magnifying glass, you probably can find a few lice around the bases of some pubic hairs.

People with crab lice should be tested for other STDs.  Go to your local health department STD clinic to diagnose your problem and get checked for others.
