Okay, I'm just looking for some reassurance, I guess.

I asked a question earlier, and you were very helpful. I am very slightly hyperthyroid right now, and went to an endo, who asked me to wait for 8 weeks and retest then. I have never had any thyroid troubles, and the family history is negative. I also have had repeat autoimmune testing for reproductive issues ( all negative ), and have had thyroid autoimmunity panels for that, as well. Because they have all been negative, endo declined to retest at this point. He feels confident this will resolve. I have no symptoms at all...no physical symptoms upon examination, and I feel just fine. He is basing his current diagnosis on my labs, and my physical examination. He says my labs point towards thyroiditis.

But because I'm a worrier ( and a former anorexic, so the weight issue is scaring me), and I've been reading on the internet about Graves, I keep seeing these stories of patients who never feel good again after taking medication, or after resolving their hyperthroidism with RAI or surgery, and gain large amounts of weight and don't feel well.

My doctor says this is a small minority, and that most people, save for the medication they now have to take do very, very well with modern treatments, and with proper treatments, it really ceases to be much of an issue at all.

Is this your experience as well? I don't know at all that I'm headed towards any kind of treatment, but I'm very worried about the possibility of it, especially as I feel fine, currently.

Any light you can shed would be helpf

Most patients do very well with treatment of Graves.

Thyroiditis is self-limited in most cases (esp with negative antibodies) and does not need specific treatment.

Good luck.
