HI there. Just wondering. Somedays..i feel better than others and then there are days like today...when i have a really bad dizzy/lightheaded spell that can last hours. Then i have panic attacks becasue of it as well. not fun. my question is this. what about the thyroid makes us feel lightheaded and stuff...is it a heart thing or blood pressure? AND should i ever really worry about passing out..or is it just the "feeling" like i am going to. Have any of you actually passed out? It is so crazy. they took me off the anti-thyroid meds about 2 weeks ago and there were a few days..maybe 1 week...wehere i actually felt kinda"normal"..but now i feel more racey again and a little hpyer in some ways. plus the dizziness thing today. scary. i am going to call and have blood drawn on monday to check my levels.

anyway. thanks.

Hi Nicobella, I too experience the "dizzy episodes" (also Sharon). In my case is low blood pressure, which they haven't yet figure out why. Are you able to take your BP while experiencing the dizziness? try also checking your heart rate as if it's BP it typically increases to compensate for the drop in BP. However, this is my case and not necesarilly yours, dizziness/lightheadness could be caused by other reasons as well. So, you should see your Dr so s/he can try to explore different reasons and give you proper medical advice.

In regards to your question, no I don't pass out but do need to get in bed until I feel better -yes, it feels like I'm going to pass out but I don't. Also, my Dr has told me to increase my salt intake and fluids (especially gatorade) to help with the hypotension. Like you, I use to panich at the beginning but now I try to stay calm as one thing on top of the other is just not fun. Like you, some days I feel better and some days is just.... oh well.

Good luck and please keep us posted!

I have Grave's and I feel dizzy and lightheaded all the time too!

I am always feeling sick and when people ask me how do I feel sick it's hard to describe as it just sounds lame. I struggle in queues and feel like I'm going to faint. I always want to lie down. I am so sick of it because I feel weak and useless. I've never fainted,  but I often wonder if one day i will just stand for too long and faint without even knowing it is about to happen.

I hope everything works out for you and your levels.

Hi there, I don't know why, but it's my understanding that they're associated with hypo conditions, but I'm hyper. So maybe something else is going there in there. Try to get your Dr to test you for something else and no, it's not in your head and you're not crazy!!! don't let any Dr tell you it's in your head when you know you feel bad. Take care and hang in there.
