I think I'm going CRAZY! HELP

I'm a female 40 and was dx'd with Hypothyroidism about 6 weeks ago. Was put on Armour (1 grain). I've dropped 20 pounds, (no complaints there) but lately I have been dealing with; brain fog, suicidal thoughts, hair loss, panic attacks, rapid heart beat, sleeplessness, no apitite at all so I'm not eating at all.
I feel like I am loosing my mind. I take Depakote for bi-polar and it has worked well for me. But now I feel like I am in a complete mania at times and just the bottom of the barrel at others?
My personality has always been upbeat and fun and now I barely speak. Sometimes I just get ANGRY and lash out. This is so NOT ME.
I forgot to pick my son up from school one day and then on that same day forgot about his soccer game. I feel like I have alzhiemers or something!
Is this common? WHat do you do. Am I going CRAZY, cause I sure feel that way?
I would appreciate any kind of response. Thank GOD this site is here!

Sometimes the transition from hypo to "normal" is tough. The hair loss is likely a left-over hypo symptom. However, the other symptoms may suggest that armour at 1 grain (60mg) may be too much at one time (ie, palpitations, panic attacks, etc).
First, would recheck thyroid function tests now. Then, if TSH is more normal (0.5-1.5) consider 30mg (1/2 grain) Armour in am and again at 2-3 pm. OR switch to Synthroid or Levoxyl. It's possible that the armour is simply too much and now you are Hyper.
Thyroid dysfunction can aggravate depression/bipolar as well - if you have a tendency towards mania, then using armour may not be best and going to synthroid or levoxyl may be the better long-term option.
Depending on your situation other causes of your symptoms may need to be investigated - first, would try to stabilize thyroid unless your condition deteriorates in the meantime.

THis is a great site and I am so glad I found it. I was just searching for anything to do with the Armour and reading all about it. Somehow I got this page and I'm glad I did.
