Destended organs??

by RoseyGirl, Jun 04, 2007 12:00AM
Hello, I feel like my insides are coming out through my vagina!! It feels differently in there than it used to and having sex hurts alot. I can feel large round lumps that could be my uterius or bladder. I thought at first it was warts, but they are huge and smooth. My sister, a nurse, says bladder distention runs in our family but there are clumps of skin at the entrance of my vagina on the top and bottom. What could this be? I had a hystorectomy in 1984 and have fibromyalgia and PBC (a liver disease)

You may be describing pelvic organ prolapse, in which a falling vagina can sometimes protrude past the labia, or feel like there is a ball in the pelvic area. Usually this is not life threatening, but it needs to be properly diagnosed. Get evaluated by a urogynecologist, or a general gynecologist, who can easily make a proper diagnosis.
