You need to get your son seen by a pediatric urologist.
A repeat sonogram would have been done since birth- what did it show- did the dilatation persist. Is the ureter dilated too. Has your son had a voiding cystourethrogram to rule out reflux. Is he on antibiotic chemoprophylaxis- are these breakthrough infections? Were these confirmed UTIs? febrile UTIs, or just positive cultures. Many such questions need to be answered
Repeated urinary infections especially in the face of an obstruction can damage the nephrons (functioning units) in the kidney and may can renal scarring- if no radiology has been done after the first one at the time of his birth, he will need, in the least a followup sonogram, and possibly functional studies to ascertain differential renal function etc.
An earlier appointment maybe preferable.

Please I have been an epileptic for about 30 years and taking teg three times a day and lum once a day.
Now, the problem which is quite recurrent is that of urinating and urine is smelling quiet badly. Some years ago I did a uroneurodynamic test which was totally negative. I am 47 years old and would like to know if I am turning into an incontinent person. Can this problem be resolved with the aid of surgery (lift up and strenghtening of bladder?) Or you suppose this may be a neurological (another one!) as well? Thank you for your help.
