aortic valve-normal

mitral valve-mild mr

pulmonic valve-normal

tricuspid valve-mild tr pasp=33 mmhg plus cvp

aortic root-3cm

left atrium-4.8 cm

right atrium-mildey enlarged

pulmonary artery=normal

inferior vena cava-normal

left ventrical-normal systolic function

left ventricular ejection fraction-65%

lv end diastole-5.1cm

iv septum end diastole-1.2cm

lvpw end diastole-1.1cm

right ventrical-normal

pericardial effusion-none

also after chest xrays it said that 2 views of chest were obtianed and findings are as follows a heart which is borderline in size, there are no pulmonic infiltrates and the visual axial skeleton is normal, now i asked my doc about the borderline thing and he told me my heart is normal just at the upper and of normal(could you specify that please?)all and all left both docs and was told i was fine, again thanks for your time its greatley appreciated!

Scag,

Thanks for the post.

Asking what constitutes a normal echo or chest xray is like asking what is a normal hair color.  Is red hair normal?  Certainly not as many people have red hair, but I think that all of us would agree that it is still part of the normal human experience.

From the information you provided, your echo is almost normal.  The mild mitral regurgitation could be within normal limits or not, depending on what the echo lab where the test was done defines as normal.  Every echo lab defines its own limits.

Your left atrial size is a little larger than normal for most labs, which may indicate that the mitral regurgitation is more than mild.  I can't tell without inspection of the echo.  If indeed the LA size is larger than normal, and the mitral regurgitation is significant, then these could be contributing to the afib.

Chest x-rays are not useful for determining the heart size once the echo is known.

Have another center take a look at your echo.

Good luck.
