rash on forehead

by hicks, Jul 30, 2001 12:00AM
A rash (open sore) has developed on the forehead - it is irritated by a hard hat.  In my job the hard had must be worn.  I have tried antibiotic creams etc., covering it with bandaids, but it never fully heals.  What can I do?

If the sore won't heal despite being covered, you need to have it looked at.  It might need a biopsy to rule out superficial lesions like precancerous keratoses or basal cell skin cancers.  These are easy but important to treat.  Of course, the sore may not be any of these, but you need to check to find out.

Best.
