Accutane question

by geneva, Sep 25, 2003 12:00AM
I have been on 60 mg of accutane for 19 weeks, and my dose has been raised to 80 mg for the last two weeks (total of 21 weeks).  I will be on the medication for another three weeks. After the dosage increase, I have noticed that my face feels like sandpaper, and if you look under really bright light, you can see numerous tiny, almost microscopic bumps. I have never had a pimple in my life anywhere but my chin area around menstrual time. My face has always been so completely smooth my whole life. Do you feel the dosage increase has done this? My face is so dry, and did this maybe cause the little bumps? Why now?  Thank you for your help!

I'm really not sure, but the only thing I can think of is dryness from the Accutane.  This will go away as soon as you stop.  Right now, just moisturize.  Next time you see your skin doctor, check this out (if it's still there.)

Best.
