What type of Dr. does the liver biopsy or does the Gastroenterologist  do it?

As far as I know a liver biopsy is performed by a  gastro. doctor. Not sure if a general surgeon would perform this operation. Hope that is of some help to you. You could check with your local general practitioner for more information about the type of doctor that does this operation and for more information about the operation itself, if you have any questions as they would be the best ones to answer any questions and worries that you may have.
