Intestinal Neuronal Dsyplasia

by andrew's mom, Jun 09, 2001 12:00AM
My son has been chronically constipated for at least 5 years, possibly 7 - 9. (He's nine years old now.) He's done all the laxitive regimes, etc. His new Pediatrican thinks he may have Hirshprung's, but his new GI thinks maybe Intestintal Neuronal Dysplasia. He's having an MRI to rule out tethered cord, having the spitz marker test and a barim enema and biobsy to determine whether or not he has ganglion cells presnt.  Although I know quite a bit about Hirshprungs, I don't know much about IND.  Does anybody know what kind of treatment follows this diagnosis?

Our son diagnosed with same condition. He is 3.  We are told that little is known of the condition or the ability to treat it.  I would be happy to give you a download of everything we have learned if you want to post your-email address as a response to this thread.  We have seen a number of the country's leading specialists in motility disorders.  Would also be interested in your experience.  Types of laxatives, etc..
