Problems after bowel resection

by tssue, Aug 01, 2001 12:00AM
I had to have my bowel resectioned after acute peritonitis from a perforated bowel.  I had an ileostomey for four months.  I had a take down of the end ileostomy in early march, I lost part of my small intestine along with the iliocel (sp?) value.  Since this procedure I have had many problems with diarreha, pain, weight gain issues, malabsorption problems etc.  My question, has anyone else had this valve removed?  If so is anyone experiencing any long term problems due to this?  Any information would be helpful.
