Constant burping

by yiannistr007, Aug 10, 2001 12:00AM
way back in January 2000 I was diagnosed with the Helicobacter pylori and after 4 months of various tests my doctor put me on the triple therapy. Since 20 months ago I have been left with one of the symptoms which came with it, this is a constant burping every day, it interferes with my everday life and it is very sore.  There is constant pressure building up frequently in the oesophagus that leads to burping.  I have been given Antacids but none seem to help.  I have been back to the Doctor but he keeps saying that it is anxiety which i feel is a load of rubbish although he has now refered me to see a specialist not untill January 2002.  This sympton is a nuisance in my everyday life.  I feel that there is someone out there who does know what is wrong and there is a cure.  My overall health is good.  I just want to get this sorted out it has been going on for far to long.

I have had various tests Endoscope, video swallow, 2 barium swallows, X-Ray  and a breath test which have all come out as normal.

Please, please help me

Anxiety can play havoc with your stomach.  It does for me.  Gas, stomach acid, reflux, back pain.

You don't even need to be worried about anything.  Anxiety can creep in without you knowing.

Talk to your doctor about trying an anti-depressant like Paxil for a few weeks.

Good luck.

I am glad I read your statements.  I had H-pylori about 3 years ago and was treated with the triple-meds.  I too have constant belching.  I get a tightness in my esophagus then I belch.  I belch when I get out of bed, after bending over, and always just after eating.  It is sore to my throat to the point it is raw.  Please let me know what you find out.  Thanks, Queeny
