Severe cough after Nissen Fundolpication

by Yolie, Aug 22, 2001 12:00AM
My baby is 13months when he was 3 days old he had a Bochdalek hernia and had to have emergency surgery for a diaphramatic hernia. He had severe reflux desease since this operation has been performed. When he turned 12 months he had Nissen Surgery. He weighed 7.5kg before this op.  A month later he weighed 7.9kg.  He does not eat at all now and he lost that weight that he gained. He now weights 7.2kg and he developed a cough that is non stop.  This is so traumatic for me his little ribs shows and I do not no what to do. I have now been refered to a physician. Why is this cough there and why is he not eating and gaining weight. I had 2 barium swallows and 1 barium meal done and all showed that the operation was a success.  The xray's shows that his lungs are clear.  What could possibly wrong?  I am in & out of hospital and doctors with him.  I just feel so HELPLESS!!!!  Pls help!!!  My heart goes out to my little baby boy
