laxatives

I have been using Bisacodyl laxatives to relieve intense constipation for approx. 8 weeks now and am worried as to the long term effects this may have and what symptoms I should be looking for?  My dosage has increased to 11 tablets at a time as my tolerance has hit the roof (10 will not work).  Please help.

I used to have an eating disorder and used laxatives all of the time.  It depends on the person, but after I stopped using them I had diarrhea even worse.  My body didn't know what to do.  I have a lot of stomach problems now due to that, but that too depends on the person.  Some people have problems with a what I think is called a spastic colon, where you are constipated even more.  As I said it really depends on the person.  I don't know if I helped you at all.  You should probably ask a doctor.  Good luck and Blessings....
