Going for Liver Biopsy/elevated blood work

by Kimberly144, Sep 30, 2001 12:00AM
32yr old. In 1997, 1998, 1999 normal, 2000 high, 2001 extremely high,  Slight elevation in liver enzymes.  I have had many other problems health wise but now I am very nervous.  August 2001 RBC, HGB, HCT, SGOT(75), SGPT(125),Triglyceride(565) all High with low HDL and slight Cholesteral elevation(225).  Then went to specialist who took more blood work 1 month later (Sept 2001) WBC(11.6) slight elevation, Protien(8.3)slight elevation, ALT(95), AST(48), TIBC(48), %saturation(11) low.

I have been tested for Hep A, B, C (All neg)

CT scan of abdominal area done with IVP (Neg)

Now in 2 weeks scheduled for Endoscopy and they are currently scheduling my Liver Biopsy.

My doctor has not stated what it could be because he states he does not know until all tests are in.  I am in the mean time very, very nervous.  I have trouble sleeping (has been like this for a few years though).  Have dizzy spells since all this began, Major fatigue.  My doctor claims dizzy spells related to my Vestibular Dysfunction.

I really would like to know is there a possibility of cancer or wouldnt this have shown up on CT scan?

Would fatty liver have shown up on CT scan?

My doctor does not feel related to medication due to elevation prior to medication I take now.

Why would red blood cells be elevated?

No drug use, No alchol use.

My MAJOR question, which I am not sure you can help is this:

My father was in Vietnam and was exposed to Agent Orange.  He has liver problems (major) and his VA doctors have assessed due to toxic agent orange exposure.  Could he have passed any of this to me
