Lactose Intolerance and Nissen Fundoplication

by Thir time no charm, Dec 06, 2001 12:00AM
Does anyone know if lactose intolerance is a side effect of the Nissen Fundoplication surgery?  I have had two failed and one succesful fundo in the last year, and now suffer daily cramps and diarrhea.

Any ideas?

Thanks!

Hi - I'm not sure about the Lactose Intolerance in association with the Nissen Fundoplication so I won't be much help.  I just wanted to give you a website to go to.  This website is monitored by doctors and other medical professionals and you might get a better answer from them.  Here is the website:  http://my.webmd.com/roundtable_topic/137    Best of luck to you!

Hi - It's me again. I went to the website listed above and asked the doctor the question about the lactose intolerance being a side affect of the Nissen Fundoplication.  Check that website to see if he or anyone else responds.  Normally answers within 24 hours.  Again, best of luck to you.
