Anyone had PSC reoccur in new liver?

by Wools, Mar 27, 2002 12:00AM
My son who is 23 was diagnosised with PSC and received a new liver in June of 2001. I worry about the reoccurance of this

awful disease.  Has anyone encountered this?  Are you taking any medications to prevent the reoccurance?  Its hard to find anyone to talk to that has PSC.  Are there any support groups that you know of for people with PSC??          Just a reminder that April is Organ Donor Awareness month. Share with your family members about your decision to donate.  Give the gift of life.

I don't know the answers to your questions, but I do know of two famous people who have had PSC and liver transplants.

One is Chris Klug (U.S. Olympic snowboarder), and the other is James Redford (son of actor Robert Redford).

You might want to look at these:

My understanding is that it can reoccur.  There is a very good group on the yahoo site that deals with just PSC.  If you go to www.yahoo.com and go to groups and then do a search on psc.  It is called psc-support.
