All tests are negative?

by lebon, Jul 07, 2002 12:00AM
Hi all.  I am new here.  I had an ERCP a little more than 2 years ago and that was followed by a severe cases of pancreatitis.  I was in ICU for 9 days.  I never had pancreatitis before that.  Anyway, ever since then, I have an "attack" anywhere from once a month to twice a week.  I have been hospitalized 4 times since June 2000.  I have had a CT scan, an endoscopic ultrasound, an MRCP.  They were all normal.  The doctor is now sending me for a sweat test to see if I have the same gene mutation as is found in cystic fibrosis.  Anyone else have this?

What kind of pain do you have? Where is it located?

by lebon, Jul 14, 2002 12:00AM
It is definitely pancreatitis.  My pain is center upper abdomen right below the rib cage.  My lipase levels are alsways between 3000 and 7000 when I end up in the ER.

Did you ever have fainting or near fainting? I have had this happening to me since Feb and my stomach hurts all the time right in the center under my sternum where the ribs meet and my stomach even swells off and on. Been to er bunches of times and everything comes back normal which I don't get because I am one of the people who never gets sick so when I complain you know something is wrong. My Dr is saying he thinks it's stress/anxiety so he put me on klonopin and zoloft.....we'll see. What do you suggest....did any of your tests come back "normal" even when you had this all going on? I feel for you because I'd give anything to feel well again  you can email me if you want ***@****
