H-pylori without an ulcer

by pixie13, Nov 19, 2002 12:00AM
I have been having "attacks" of severe abdominal pain for about 3 years.  The pain is between the navel and mid chest.  I recently had an endescopy and biopsies that  confirmed h-pylori,but not an ulcer.  My Dr.  does not think the hp is the source of my pain and has ordered ERCP to check for a stone.  I had my gallbladder out 15 years ago.  He prescribed PrevPac to treat the hp and I feel so much better.  I was wondering if  anyone else has had a similar experience?

I too was told I had hpylori and no ulcer.  I had severe pain right under my rib cage in the front for 6 months.  I had an endoscopy, colonoscopy, hyda scan, gastric emptying study, upper GI series, CAT scan and they found nothing.  I was miserable.  After the H Pylori was cleared up, I still had pain.  They started treating me for stomach spasms and I started getting better using LEVSIN for spasms.  Through all of this I couldn't eat so I lost 50 lbs in the  6 months.  I finally leveled off and am 90 % back to normal.  Good luck and keep us posted.  TLynn
