Should I treat it.

I was prescribed the PrevPac because the MD said I had an ulcer. So I took 2 doses and then I vomitted and had diarrhea so I stopped taking it. They then switched me to amox prevacid and flagyl instead of biaxin. I am just wondering do I have to treat the H pylori. Would it be okay if I just took Prevacid. They only did a blood test and said it was positive. Don't all people have positive H pylori tests?  Should I continue to take this new regimen or can I just see if the Prevacid 30mg BID works on its own.

You don't HAVE to treat it, no.  However, your life will likely be quite miserable if you don't.  On the other hand, even with antibiotic treatment, H. Pylori often comes back....

Antibiotics have a nasty side-effect of killing off the bacteria in your colon.  Eating yogurt will help fight the nausea and vomiting.  It's like giving your sick E. Coli super-vitamins (they eat the acidobaccilus)
