Question Title: possible pregnancy-elevated enzyme levelsForum: The Maternal and Child Health Forum

My sister had jaundice, and her liver enzyme levels are extremely high. She has been sick with nausea, tiredness, and other symptoms of preganancy. She was tested by her doctors and she does not have hepatitis A. Her pregnancy tests came back negative but they did it 12 days before her next period. They did a ulta sound and says she has a cyst on her ovaries and that there is mass in her fallopian tubes.Could she actually be preganant and this is just unique symptoms caused by her preganacy (meaning her enzyme levels). Her previous records on her last pregnancy showed a negative result and elevated liver enzyme levels. any information would be helpful her doctors dont know what is wrong. Dear Cristal: A pregnancy test "12 days before the expected period" means one is 16 days from the last period. This is the time of ovulation: a pregnancy test is not helpful because the pregnancy has barely started. An ovarian cyst by ultrasound examination is a normal finding. A fallopian tube mass by ultrasound could be a blocked tube (most common) and hydrosalpinx. Keywords: liver enzymes, pregnancy This information is provided for general education only and is not a medical consultation. If you have specific questions, please contact your physician.
